Alsik Point of View
Panoramic view of Sønderborg from the 16th floor
On the 16th floor of Alsik Hotel & Spa in Sønderborg, you’ll find Alsik Point of View – a unique viewing platform with glass panels all around, offering an uninterrupted view over the city’s rooftops, coastline, and the beautiful South Jutland landscape. From here, you can spot landmarks like Dybbøl Mill and Sønderborg Castle – and on clear days, you can even see all the way to Germany.
Alsik Hotel & Spa, which opened in May 2019, is a prominent landmark in the city. Standing 70 meters tall and covering an area of 24,800 m², the hotel includes four restaurants – including Sønderborg’s exclusive gourmet restaurant Syttende – and houses the largest spa and wellness area in Scandinavia.
The floor is open to both hotel guests and external visitors and offers a unique experience in bright, calm, and open surroundings. You can read more about Point of View and book a ticket to visit the viewing platform here.
Unobstructed airflow through the ceiling
For the ceiling at Alsik Point of View, DAMPA® Clip-In Custom Tiles in a pearl mouse grey color were chosen. The panels are perforated with 8 mm holes (ST-8040) and installed without acoustic felt, allowing guests a clear, deep view into the black surface above the ceiling.
This solution was selected to ensure free airflow through the perforations, so that the space is not affected by temperature fluctuations. The viewing platform is designed as a zero energy space – a room where the temperature naturally changes in response to the conditions outside.
The calm grey tone and large perforations create a subtle and elegant effect across the ceiling surface – ensuring the ceiling doesn’t distract from the stunning view.
