ARoS Aarhus Art Museum
ARoS Aarhus Art Museum is one of Northern Europe’s most well-known art museums, designed by Schmidt Hammer Lassen. The building, covering approximately 4,000 m², is structured with an intuitive layout, where the spaces connect naturally and guide visitors through the museum.
A Unified Ceiling for Changing Exhibitions
For this project, DAMPA® Lamella was supplied and installed across the museum’s ceilings. The lamellas follow the architectural lines and help create a consistent ceiling expression that suits the large exhibition spaces. In several areas, the lamellas are carefully adapted to the building’s circular columns, where the ceiling is precisely cut around the shapes.
The lamellas work well with the lighting throughout the spaces, where lighting installations are integrated in a way that supports the overall ceiling design. At the same time, the system allows easy access above the ceiling, which is an advantage in a museum where lighting is continuously adjusted to suit changing exhibitions.
The result is a solution where DAMPA® Lamella forms a natural part of the architecture, helping to unify the spaces visually and support the museum’s evolving exhibitions.
