Metal is a highly versatile material. With solutions in steel and aluminum, you gain access to a material that combines design freedom, durability, and proven technical performance – without compromising on either aesthetics or acoustics.
At DAMPA, we work every day to develop and produce acoustic metal solutions for ceilings and walls. All our products meet the demands of future-focused architecture and construction.
Here are six reasons why you should consider an acoustic metal solution for your next project.
1. High durability and minimal maintenance
Our ceiling solutions in steel and aluminum are known for their robust nature. In fact, metal ceilings have a documented lifespan of over 50 years.
This is partly due to their resistance to impact, wear, and temperature fluctuations. It also means the surface remains intact and visually uniform – year after year.
The durable material and the design of the ceiling systems make it easy to access installations above the ceiling, as the metal can withstand repeated disassembly and reinstallation without damage.
2. Circular and recyclable material
Both steel and aluminum are fully recyclable materials that can be reused without compromising quality. At the same time, our metal solutions have a long lifespan, reducing the need for replacement and saving resources over time.
Since steel and aluminum can be recycled repeatedly without losing their natural properties, there are significant CO₂ savings when using recycled material instead of newly extracted raw materials.
At DAMPA, we offer solutions made with 75% post-consumer aluminum or SSAB Zero Steel, allowing for up to 59% CO₂ savings per kg of steel or aluminum compared to our standard material.

3. Architectural and design freedom
Metal can be shaped, perforated, and coated in countless variations. This makes it possible to create unique design expressions, add texture, and play with reflections that give a space an extra visual dimension.
Whether you’re aiming for a raw industrial look or a colorful coated finish, we can help you find the perfect solution.
We offer coating in all RAL and NCS colors, as well as digital printing – so you can achieve exactly the expression you want, whether it’s with colors, images, patterns, or logos. The only limit is your imagination.

Thanks to the durable surface and wide range of design possibilities, it’s also possible to repaint older solutions – whether ceiling or wall – to match a new visual style.
We supported this, for example, at Ground Fitness, where, following a comprehensive renovation, their existing wall panels in galvanized clear lacquer were recoated to match the new dark aesthetic they had chosen.

4. Effective acoustics
There’s still a common myth that metal isn’t suitable for acoustic purposes. However, in practice, that’s not the case.
By combining a perforated metal panel with acoustic felt and, if needed, additional sound-absorbing material behind it, we can activate three types of absorbers: the porous absorber, the membrane absorber, and the resonance absorber.
Thanks to the many options for acoustic customization, most of our solutions can be delivered in acoustic class A, B, or C – depending on the specific needs of your project.
This makes metal an ideal choice for spaces where acoustics play a key role, such as classrooms, offices, auditoriums, healthcare buildings, or any other environments where acoustic comfort is essential for functionality and well-being.

5. Hygiene and ease of cleaning
Metal is easy to clean – even in environments with strict hygiene and cleaning requirements. The material withstands daily washing, and the surfaces remain intact and resistant to wear and discoloration.
This makes metal solutions an ideal choice for healthcare buildings, laboratories, kitchens, and other areas where hygiene is a key concern.
The dust-free acoustic felt in DAMPA ceilings prevents particle fall-through from the perforated surface while also contributing to the acoustic performance. In addition, our acoustic felt contains no organic materials, as it is made with fiberglass – ensuring an optimal hygienic ceiling solution for your project.
The easy-to-clean surface tolerates both wet and dry cleaning. The DAMPA® Clip-In Tile has been tested against many of the most commonly used cleaning agents and methods in the healthcare sector. Its chemical resistance has been tested according to ISO 2812-1, where it was exposed to ten commonly used chemicals with satisfactory results.
Furthermore, the tiles have been tested for resistance to unwanted growth of bacteria and other microorganisms under ISO 846, Procedure C, and were rated as highly resistant to bacterial growth.

6. High fire safety
Metal is a non-combustible material and does not contribute to fire development. It does not melt at normal fire temperatures and does not release toxic fumes.
This is crucial in buildings with strict fire and safety requirements, such as hospitals, care homes, and public institutions.
All our metal ceilings are classified at a minimum as B-s1, d0, ensuring a high level of fire safety and peace of mind for both building users and emergency responders in the event of a fire.
Form follows function philosophy
With DAMPA’s metal solutions, you get more than just a standard ceiling and wall system. Guided by our form follows function philosophy, all our acoustic solutions are designed to help create a healthy indoor climate – whether through acoustics, temperature, ventilation, or lighting.
