DAMPA launches new EPDs with documented climate footprint

DAMPA now offers ceiling solutions made with 75% post-consumer aluminium – a proven sustainable choice with a lower climate footprint. With DAMPA’s new EPDs, customers can compare both materials and acoustic solutions on a solid data foundation.

In an industry where climate requirements and the need for documentation are rising, transparency is becoming crucial. With the introduction of new and updated EPDs for all acoustic solutions for ceilings – including those in 75% post-consumer aluminium – DAMPA takes a significant step in documenting its green journey.

We have worked with the option of 75% post-consumer aluminium for some time, but with the new EPDs the environmental impact is now fully documented. This enables our customers to make informed decisions based on third-party validated data,” says Mogens Kjærgaard, Head of R&D and Sustainability at DAMPA.

The new EPDs are structured around DAMPA’s different product groups: ceiling solutions and substructures. In addition, they are divided into the different materials, so environmental impacts can be compared directly – for example, when choosing between a DAMPA® Clip-In in steel, aluminium, or the greener 75% post-consumer aluminium.

There is a specific reason for separating ceiling solutions and substructures:

The division was chosen to simplify the process for customers and to future-proof the documentation. We are already seeing more inquiries about renovation projects where, for instance, the existing DAMPA substructure is reused. We are ready for this – also in terms of documentation,” explains Mogens Kjærgaard.

From Industry EPD to Product-Specific EPD: A Quality Upgrade

Previously, DAMPA used industry EPDs, which provide a general picture of the environmental impact of a product type. The new EPDs, however, offer much more precise and project-relevant documentation which is exactly what consultants and builders are asking for.

Documentation requirements are becoming stricter. That’s why we chose to take the next step and ensure that our solutions are fully covered with new EPDs. This strengthens our credibility and allows us to see the effect of our different sustainability initiatives compared to when we only had an industry EPD,” says Mogens Kjærgaard.

A Visible Step in a Larger Strategy

At DAMPA, the new EPDs are not a standalone initiative but part of an ongoing effort to improve the company’s overall sustainability profile. The ceiling solution in 75% post-consumer aluminium is clear proof of how circular materials and documented lower climate impact can be combined with design and functionality.

It’s not only about delivering a great product. It’s about making it easier to build responsibly. With the EPDs in hand, our customers can both demonstrate their choices and meet the requirements they face in their daily work,” concludes Mogens Kjærgaard.
