Cruise ship Norwegian Joy leaving Meyer Werft

With only 1,2 metres of space at the sides, the enormous cruise ship left Meyer Werft backwards Sunday evening this week. After 14 hours of transit through the Eems Canal, the cruise set the course to the harbour Eemshaven.

Norwegian Joy, the sister ship of the Norwegian Escape, is the second ship of the Breakaway PLUS class built at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany. DAMPA has delivered B-15 fire-certified ceilings for corridors, wheelhouse, public stairs, toilets and crew areas. We have delivered acoustic and decorative ceilings for the Tender Lobby and the Casino.

After its completion, Norwegian Joy will make its first trip to China at the end of April. As a ship specially developed for the Asian market, it will be used exclusively for Chinese travellers.

DAMPA has been a supplier of metal ceilings for Meyer Werft for more than 40 years. In 2016 Meyer Werft awarded DAMPA “Supplier of the year 2015”.
