Design with Good Acoustics

Focus on good acoustics through interior design to improve indoor climate, enhance well-being, and boost concentration.

With the new wall-mounted acoustic panels, DAMPA® Silent Board, it’s easy to incorporate good acoustics into your design – whether in existing buildings or during the early stages of a project.

Modern Lifestyle, Same Challenges

Back in 1951, when DAMPA’s journey began, the focus was on acoustic challenges such as reducing the noise from typewriters to lower error rates and increase efficiency. Even though today’s world is more digital, the acoustic issues remain the same. Whether it’s the loud clicking of keyboards, the hum of printers, or the echo of conversations in a classroom, our concentration decreases, we become less productive, and our sense of well-being diminishes.

To address these issues, DAMPA has developed the DAMPA® Silent Board.

Emphasis on Beautiful Design and Robust Natural Materials

With DAMPA® Silent Board, the properties of steel are harnessed to create natural surfaces that remain true to the material. This allows for effects such as galvanisation, while offering familiar standard designs in black, white, or any other NCS or RAL colour you desire.

The wall panels’ unique quality lies in steel’s properties, which also offer incredible durability, protecting the acoustic panels from dents caused by impacts. This makes it easy and aesthetically pleasing to optimise acoustics in schools, corridors, and other busy areas prone to wear and tear.

Reduce Reverberation Time and Create the Right Environment

Whether it’s the echo in school hallways, the noise level in classrooms, or the hum of a printer you wish to reduce, the principles of acoustics remain the same. Reverberation time must be reduced, and to achieve this, it’s recommended that acoustic elements cover approximately 20% of the room’s floor area.

DAMPA® Silent Board is an ideal choice as an acoustic design element in a space. The wall panel has a sound absorption class of A and reduces reverberation time through the perforation pattern in the steel. This is a crucial factor in achieving good acoustics, as the holes break up sound waves and allow passage to the porous absorber behind. It is here the critical reverberation time is reduced, and good acoustics are created.
