Steel Plates Create Circular Acoustic Solutions

Choosing an acoustic solution from DAMPA guarantees a solution made from circular materials and the opportunity to design your own personal version.

Most people have probably experienced sitting in a room where the acoustics were so poor that they couldn’t hear what the person across them was saying. Acoustic wall panels are the solution, and it’s not new that metal is highly suitable for this purpose. Since 1951, DAMPA has supplied acoustic ceiling systems to the construction and marine sectors.

The latest addition to DAMPA’s product line is their wall panels, which are also suitable for private homes. The acoustic steel wall panels can be customized as needed—DAMPA has developed the Silent Board and Silent Board Flex wall panels, both of which are available in acoustic class A.

We often see that owners of new buildings and prefabricated houses have very minimalist homes with many hard surfaces like stone floors and a generally raw style with high ceilings, steel, and concrete. They often struggle with acoustics in their large kitchen-living rooms, which our wall panels can help with

says Lone Rold, Project and Architect Consultant at DAMPA.

Metal Reduces Reverberation Time

That perforated metal sheets can improve acoustics surprise many. With DAMPA’s acoustic solutions, all three types of absorbers are activated: porous absorbers, resonance absorbers, and membrane absorbers. By combining all three types, you are assured an acoustic solution that reduces reverberation time and can be tailored to the needs of any room.

“The new acoustic wall panels are easy to adapt to individual solutions, and they are available in all NCS and RAL colour codes. This means that if a customer has chosen a specific dark blue colour for their wall at home, we can offer matching wall panels,” says Lone Rold and continues:

You can also choose wall panels with a raw style, such as a galvanized surface, or with digital prints. This could be photos of your children, holiday memories, or a beautiful green forest. But our wall panels can also have a dual function as a bulletin board. Where people are used to seeing these in cork or wood panels covered with fabric, our wall panels can bring everything together in a modern interior.

In the latest acoustic solution, Silent Board Flex, DAMPA plays with different graphic elements, light, and shadow. This gives a unique experience when passing by the wall panels.

Easy and Simple Installation

Another advantage of DAMPA’s metal wall panels is that they are easy to keep clean.

“Our acoustic wall panels not only look good, but they are also hygienic. Additionally, they are equipped with a very easy hanging system, so you don’t need to be a craftsman to install them. It’s a simple rail that the panels just hang on,” explains Lone Rold and continues:

At DAMPA, we focus heavily on sustainability, working with the mindset of ‘reduce, reuse, recycle.’ All of our acoustic panels can be reused. For example, when fashion shifts from green to blue, you can give us a call, and we can change the colour of your wall panels. The metal neither deteriorates nor loses its properties, and with small modifications, it can be incorporated into a new project.
