Regenerative Design and Ceiling System Reuse

The future depends on our actions here and now. DAMPA is therefore focusing on regenerative design and the recyclability of both raw materials and the finished ceiling system.

By choosing a DAMPA solution, one is assured that environmental initiatives are prioritised. Through the company’s Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), it is clear how environmental value is added to both the construction process and the finished result.

Materials for a Greener Solution

Metal can be recycled repeatedly. For DAMPA, this means that the materials used in their ceiling solutions can be recycled nearly 100%, resulting in significant resource savings.

However, it is not only the raw materials that are reused. Due to the high quality and long lifespan of the ceilings—at least 50 years—the entire ceiling system can be dismantled and reused in another project without the need for resources to produce entirely new solutions.

Some buildings still have DAMPA ceiling systems installed from the mid-1950s, which continue to contribute to a healthy indoor climate with easy access to maintenance above the ceiling.

Environmental Product Declarations

DAMPA has three Environmental Product Declarations for steel, aluminium, and climate ceilings.

This means that all the company’s products are covered by an EPD and can be used in certified buildings.

Expert Partnerships Contribute to Lower Energy Consumption

To achieve the optimal sustainable solution, DAMPA collaborates with expert partners, and the ceiling systems provide nearly unlimited possibilities for energy-efficient integrations while supporting the room’s aesthetics.

This includes the company’s unique Climate Ceiling, which optimises the operating budget, indoor climate, and energy consumption. The Climate Ceiling works by regulating temperature based on the individual person’s radiant heat, which is absorbed by the cooling ceiling.

Additionally, there is the option to integrate energy-efficient LED lighting, as seen in the Citizen’s House in Odense, where they chose a custom-designed solution with “gold” panel ceilings.
