About the Ship

Measuring 212 metres in length with a beam of 31 metres, Spirit of Tasmania IV accommodates up to 1,800 passengers in 301 cabins. The range of cabin options includes deluxe suites, family suites, porthole cabins, and accessible rooms with interconnecting features, catering to diverse traveller needs.

Sailing between Tasmania and mainland Australia, the vessel provides a comfortable journey enhanced by panoramic sea views and an array of onboard amenities. Passengers can enjoy dining at the restaurant, unwinding at one of three bars or relaxing. Entertainment options include two cinemas, a children’s play area, and a Game Zone, ensuring an enjoyable experience for guests of all ages.

About the Solution

DAMPA has supplied ceiling solutions for both the public areas and the wheelhouse of Spirit of Tasmania IV.

 
In the public spaces, a variety of ceiling systems and finishes have been chosen to enhance the vessel’s interior design. For the cinema lobby, black DAMPA^® Clip-In Tiles that create a dramatic, cinematic atmosphere have been chosen. In the lounge, a distinctive design has been achieved using DAMPA^® Interval panels in varying widths, finished with three different wood-look DOBEL foils. This combination of widths and wood-imitating surfaces has created a dynamic and visually engaging ceiling, complemented by white DAMPA^® Interval 190/10 panels in the surrounding areas.

The white DAMPA^® Interval 190/10 panels have also been used in the buffet restaurant, while the central buffet area has DAMPA^® Clip-In Tiles in a striking copper finish, adding a bold visual element. In the café, a selection of DAMPA^® Interval panels with wood-effect finishes have contributed to a warm and inviting atmosphere, while the white panels in both the café and restaurant have ensured cohesion and simplicity.

For the wheelhouse, blue DAMPA^® 200 Panels have been selected.
