About the cruise
As the first of P&O Cruises’ Excellence-class ships, MS Iona set a new standard when she entered service in 2020. With capacity for more than 5,000 passengers, she is one of the largest cruise ships ever built for the British market. On board, guests can enjoy a wide variety of dining and entertainment experiences, as well as expansive public areas designed to combine modern elegance with comfort at sea.

About the DAMPA solution
For MS Iona, DAMPA supplied more than 20,000 m² of metal ceilings, spanning both guest and crew areas. The installation covers a broad selection of DAMPA ceiling systems, carefully matched to the ship’s diverse spaces.

Public areas feature DAMPA® Clip-In, providing a clean, uniform surface that allows easy integration of lighting, ventilation, and other technical functions. In corridors, DAMPA® Hook-On ensures fire safety with its B-15 classification, while maintaining easy access to installations above the ceiling.

For restaurants, lounges, and larger gathering spaces, the DAMPA® 10/100/200/300 panels offer a linear, architectural expression that enhances the atmosphere while supporting acoustic comfort. Additionally, DAMPA® DCC 200-600 panels have been installed to meet strict B- and A-class fire regulations in crew and technical areas.

Finally, DAMPA® E-panels were applied in various corridors and service spaces, ensuring a functional yet refined ceiling solution across the vessel.

Together, these systems contribute to Iona’s modern and cohesive interior, balancing safety, acoustics, and aesthetics throughout the ship.
